For a number of years now there has been talks about dealerships becoming redundant as more people are searching and buying car online. With the likes of auction sites such as Ebay, people are getting used to buying cars without having actually seen them in the flesh.
I personally think that there will always be a large number of people that do want to see a car and test drive it before buying, especially when it comes to new models. Plus many people say they go to a dealership for the whole experience they receive and that that is a massive part of buying the car. Many dealerships go the extra mile even by giving the buyer a bunch of flowers when they come to collect their new car.
You cannot really get a good feel for a car just from a picture, to truly know if it is the car for you, you need to see it and ideally drive it first.
