The Nissan LEAF may well be a bit of a strangely named car, but it doesn’t glide effortless on our roads and it’s becoming ideally recognised as the world’s best selling electric vehicle. This is largely down to the car’s success in Japan, but it’s a remarkably stylish city car too and you get a really stunning infotainment system.
Space is probably a drawback and you may just about have space for a week’s worth of shopping, but then not much else. The car can simply be charged from the front and all you have to do is lift up a small hatch. Nissan are in the process of building up a UK charging network, but for time being you will more than likely have to charge the vehicle at your own home and pray to god that your engine lasts the journey.
This could be one of the first hatchbacks that really entice people to go electric, and its success in Japan could well be transferred to the UK and the rest of the world.
